Ive decided that I want to complete my larger works on 40x50cm canvas in floating frames. I'm being kind to myself this time though and sourcing canvas with frames already made! So, while I wait to get my hands on some, I'll continue creating some smaller works on board. These will help me decide on the final pieces. If you want to get your hands on one of these, they will all be available for $150 and will help me buy canvas and materials. Or, you can collect an A5 print each month by joining my print club.
My next artwork showcases the long sandy beach of Tunkalilla, although beautiful, it can be very soft. At the end of this wild stretch of beach is the very steep Balquhidda Hill, or what I fondly refer to as Mt Bitch. A VERY steep climb where hikers use the fence to haul themselves up (and try not slip backwards to take out fellow hikers!)
I'm tring to consider what I want to communicate with each painting. With this one it was all about the amazing shapes. The perspective in the headland and clouds. The whitewater shapes. The circular shape of the rockpool, the undulating hills. Most importantly, the path that leads hikers right amongst it.
