So, I've decided I'm going to paint the entirity of the Heysen Trail in South Australia. That's 61 paintings to represent 61 sections of the trail. This is what I'm envisioning ....
- Walking the remainder of the Heysen trail, I've already walked some sections up to Cudlee Creek.
- Creating small paintings on canvas board as premilnary sketches.
- Completing 61 40x50cm paintings on stretched canvas
- Holding a culminating exhibition with paintings being displayed in a manner that represents the underlation of the track.
- Blogging my process and Heysen Track stories.
I think this will be at least 12 - 18 months in the making with the exhibition in 2027! If you want to be a part of this journey, please follow along! I might need a nudge or two along the way! The first hurdle is getting an ankle reconstruction so that I can actually walk!
